Lip Product Addict Tag

It’s approaching the end of 2014, so I’ve decided to do a favourite Lip Product Addict Tag to sum up all the Lippie favs in 2014!

1. Favourite balm/treatment?

I have not been adventurous enough to try out so many lip balm/treatment products, but these are the few that I’ve been using throughout the year!

Also, I have recently added in The Lip Scrub by Sara Happ in Brown Sugar to my weekly deep cleanse routine. I’m not a fan of sweet treats but I’ve been really enjoying the smell and texture of The Lip Scrub. It’s rich, slightly creamy and very soft. I remember on the first time I tried it, I picked up too much of the product as I wasn’t aware of how soft and buttery the product is. So here’s a note for you girls out there!

2. Best eye-catching Red?

Well well well. I’ve always been a fan of Red lippies, until I was told by a lot of my friends that I should just stop wearing Red for once and be out-of-my-comfort-zone. I have a few that I really enjoyed but the NYX Matte Lipstick in Bloody Mary is definitely one of my all-time-fav! Seriously, at one point of time I couldn’t stop wearing it. It’s a pink-based Red, not only it flatters my very yellow skin, but also a lot of other skin tones, so do pick it up if you’ve ever seen any of those. It doesn’t transfer once it dries up on your lips and easy to remove.

I used to love the L’Oreal Color Riche in shade #297. It’s super intense and doesn’t transfer, but it will take quite some time to remove them as they are super pigmented. I lost the lipstick somewhere and L’Oreal repackage their Color Riche series (which I’m honestly not a fan of their new packaging and formula) so I’ve not repurchased it ever since.

3. Best luxury and drugstore?

Ok, it’s a tough decision because I’m a hoarder and I have too many lipsticks that I can ever use in my entire lifetime, I have so many of them that at least a good 30% of them are still brand new in package. MEH. Anyway, back to the point.

My struggles between NARS, Burberry and Lipstick Queen is insane but I am really in love with Lipstick Queen’s lipstick. It’s like the most creamy, non-drying, build-able color and very opaque. They have a few different series, but the one I got was from their Saint collection. It’s their sheer lipstick series, but girl, I swear even though it’s categories as sheer, it’s never really sheer. The consistency is so creamy, so soft and almost opaque. Build-able coverage and doesn’t dry your lips out. If you ever need a new lipstick, go try Lipstick Queen. You’ll be transformed. I promised.

For drugstore, I really love NYX lipsticks, both Round and Matte, hands down. They are so highly pigmented, creamy and last for hours. For the price, it’s definitely worth it! NYX might just be one of the two brands (other than Lipstick Queen) that I will consistently look out for new range because it’s really that good.

4. Most Disappointing Product?

The most disappointing one has got to be from L’Oreal Caress Series. I have heard way too much good things about it, but when I apply it on my lips, there was no colour and it doesn’t even stay on my lips. Not even for a second. I’m not sure if it’s because I got the “bad” one, but seriously, how bad can one liquid lipstick be? I’ve tried so many lipsticks, lip tint, but honestly this is the worst. As much as I love their Color Riche series and some of their eyeliners (I used to love their mascara but I’ve found better ones), this is really one of the most bad experience one.

5. Lip Liner or No?
To me, if I want to achieve a fuller looking lips, I will go for lip liner. Or if I have a very important function, I will apply lip liner just before my lipstick, but if not, I won’t go through the trouble of using one, because sometimes the color of the lip liner will change the original color of the lipstick. It’s tiring and expensive to always buy matching shade, so I guess when I really need it, then I will go for it.

6. Favourite Lip Gloss?

I have tried a handful of lip glosses, and I swear by Chanel’s lip gloss. Even though 99% of the time I rarely wear lip glosses, but whenever I do, I will reach out for my Chanel ones. I love the texture of it. Not sticky, not very glossy and it last for a few hours longer than other lip glosses. Maybe for a more affordable alternative will be from Make Up For Ever HD Lip Gloss. They are not as sticky as compared to the rest and it last quite a bit.

7. Others?
I used to not believe in lip brushes as I find them useless, but after trying it for the first time, I’m hooked. It’s always good to have a lip brush to achieve that perfectly shaped lips and even if you are not keen on using them on your lips, you can always use them with concealer to define your lips on your skin instead.
Always moisturize your lips before applying lipstick so that the lipstick won’t dry up your lips. Lip scrub is important to remove dead skin and it helps to achieve a fuller and healthier looking lips too!

Thank you for reading and see you girls again on Saturday for a review on a new brand :)
